One of my favorite food memories is that of boat dinners with my Great Grandma Lil. I don’t even remember what the occasion was, or who all was there, but I remember those huge boats, crammed full of food, being carried to our table by multiple waiters.
I don’t know if it was because I was a kid, because of the insane amount of food, or because of the special occasion we were celebrating, but those dinners were always so exciting! I loved diving into the boat, grabbing whatever piece of sushi, chicken, or tempura caught my eye! Those dinners left me feeling like I was going to explode, but in a good way!
We haven’t been for a boat dinner in many many years, but my Mom’s birthday swung around, and we decided to do something different than our normal birthday dinners out. So, being reminiscent, and super hungry, we decided that it was time to attempt to take out a boat dinner once again. The place we used to go to has since closed, so we ended up at Musashi’s (www.musashirestaurant.com). We usually visit musashi’s for their teppan grill, so this was a change for us.
There were 6 of us out to dinner, so we ordered 2 boats. That was probably a mistake. As they were being brought to the table we all looked at each other with horror. “How are we going to eat all this food”!? I don’t know how, but we managed to devour it. Every delicious bite.
