Margaritas are the best. Seriously. You can have so much fun with flavors and colors. You can rim your glasses with salt or sugar. You can add limes, or lemons, or strawberries, or raspberries. Or, if its winter, and you want something festive – you can add cranberries!
This is, without a doubt, one of the most delicious drinks that I have ever made. I actually whipped this amazing cocktail up for a party I went to this holiday season – and it was quite the hit! (more…)
The Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail – and is usually made with sugar, limes, and cachaca (a Brazilian liquor made from sugar cane). This version is a Cacique Caipirinha, however, and is based on a cocktail that I enjoyed in one of my favorite vacation spots, Costa Rica. Costa Ricans use a sugar cane liquor that is called Cacique Guaro. You can also substitute white rum in for the cacique if you don’t have any of this Costa Rican liquor on hand.
Hubby and I had the vacation of a lifetime in August. 10 magnificent days in Costa Rica.
We filled the trip with tons of hiking, zip lining, canyoneering and deep sea fishing. And we also ate a ton of amazing costa rican food and drinks. Did you know that Costa Rica has their own liquor made from sugar cane? No? Me either until this trip.
Today it was 106 degrees. Thats right 106 crazy hot, melt your face off degrees. What happened to fall?! When is it going to get here and kick summer out?! (more…)
So…confession: I’m a little behind in my blogging. This was actually supposed to be a New Years Eve post. But guess what?! It’s now a middle of January post. But that’s okay, because this drink is delicious whenever you enjoy it. (more…)

One of my favorite parts of fall is Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte, I wait all year for them to become available! But, my personal rule is one per season. Between the $4 per small latte price tag and a million calories per serving, that’s all I can afford! (more…)
We used to make fun drinks all the time. But now, most nights it’s easier to just pop open a bottle of wine and sit down on the couch after a long day of work.
Fun drinks make the end of a hard day so much better though! So, I have update my “to make” list, and we have filled up our liquor cabinet. Our first try at a fun new drink, the Jalapeno Sunrise, turned out fantastic. The Jalapeno adds quite the kick…so watch out! (more…)
Matt and I had a ton of champagne left from our wedding, and so I decided to do something fun with it!
We’re not big champagne drinkers, and have had way too many mimosas trying to drink down our champagne stash, so a fruit salad champagne treat sounded like a delicious way to mix it up. (more…)
