I have been craving cookies for the past couple days. Like, bad. I’ve thought about going down to the hospital cafeteria to buy a cookie or two – but those gross things just weren’t going to cut it. I needed yummy, warm, perfectly homemade cookies.
So, this weekend I finally had a break – and since I just bought a new jar of orange marmalade, I figured, why not?! Orange Marmalade Thumbprint cookies! They are light, buttery, delicious – and definitely helped with that cookie craving!
Baked pasta dishes are one of my favorite dinner dishes to make…and to eat! They are easy to throw together and pop in the oven, and there is nothing like digging into a hot, bubbling, cheesy pasta dish!
This Cheesy Sausage and Pasta Bake incorporates fun rotini noodles, mozzarella cheese and a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce. I added a sprinkling of panko crumbs on the top for a yummy crunch!
Christmas season was crazy this year. I have never been so glad to see January! We had party party, event after event to attend. Not that I am complaining…I am super thankful to have so many amazing friends and such a great family to celebrate the season with.
I had to come up with all kinds of fun appetizers and drink recipes to bring along to these parties…and these Sweet Potato Stacks were one of the best apps I have had so far. They are quick and easy to make, so savory and delicious, and individual sized! So fun for serving and eating!
Margaritas are the best. Seriously. You can have so much fun with flavors and colors. You can rim your glasses with salt or sugar. You can add limes, or lemons, or strawberries, or raspberries. Or, if its winter, and you want something festive – you can add cranberries!
This is, without a doubt, one of the most delicious drinks that I have ever made. I actually whipped this amazing cocktail up for a party I went to this holiday season – and it was quite the hit! (more…)
The Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail – and is usually made with sugar, limes, and cachaca (a Brazilian liquor made from sugar cane). This version is a Cacique Caipirinha, however, and is based on a cocktail that I enjoyed in one of my favorite vacation spots, Costa Rica. Costa Ricans use a sugar cane liquor that is called Cacique Guaro. You can also substitute white rum in for the cacique if you don’t have any of this Costa Rican liquor on hand.
I love gummy bears! They include all of the best things candy has to offer. They are sweet. They are chewy. And best of all, they are so darn cute! I ended up with quite a few bags of mini haribro gummy bears (the best kind!) and wanted to something fun with them. And then it hit me…bake them into my other favorite treat – sugar cookies! The result was pure awesomeness.
This was my first year participating in the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap. It was so much fun and I received some super amazing cookies!
It took me a while to figure out what kind of cookies I was going to bake up for this event. There were lots of things to think about. I wanted to make a cookie that pretty much anyone could enjoy…who doesn’t enjoy chocolate? I needed something that would stay intact while shipped across the country…so dainty cookies wouldn’t cut it. I also wanted something that was a little different from your average holiday cookie – so I gingerbread men or peppermint cookies off the list. (more…)
A quick, easy, healthy dinner is my number 1 priority on late work nights. By the time I get off of work I am hungry, tired, and grumpy! Super grumpy. And all I can think about is dinner, PJ’s and the sitting on the couch.
That’s why this BBQ Chicken Stuffed Sweet Potato is perfect! Just throw the chicken breasts and BBQ sauce in the slow cooker in the morning, throw a few sweet potatoes in the oven as soon as you get home from work, and in 30 minutes and about no work later, dinner is ready!
Rice Krispie treats are the ultimate childhood dessert. There is absolutely nothing better than ooey, gooey, krispie, crunchy hand held treats!
Until now. Because I have found that this grown up version, which appeals to the sophisticated adult taste buds but still hold on to the simplicity of this favorite childhood treat. Browned Butter Vanilla Bean Rice Krisipes are the perfect mix of childhood meets adulthood.
There’s just something about peanut butter that’s comforting. Am I right? And chocolate. That goes without saying. Chocolate heals everything. If we learned anything from Harry Potter, it is that chocolate has healing power. (Yes, it is Harry Potter season, so we currently have a HP Marathon going on in my household…you will see lots of HP references in the near future, my sincerest apologies.)
So what happens when you stick those two together into a delicious dessert?! This Chocolate Kiss Peanut Butter Cookie – that’s what! And these cookie have magical powers. They are that good. (more…)
